Do I Have A Sprain?

In most cases, sprains occur in the ankle. A sprain happens when the ligaments that connect your bones to your joints are stretched or torn. Besides the ankle, other commonly sprained areas include knees and wrists.

Sprains are accompanied by swelling, bruising, pain, and limited or no mobility around the affected area. Mild sprains can often be treated at home through elevation, cold compresses, and rest. However, serious sprains may require surgery. If you can't put weight on your ankle or have severe pain, don’t hesitate to call.
