Neuromas

What Is A Neuroma?

A neuroma is a benign, or non-cancerous, growth of tissue that leads to a “pinched nerve” sensation in the foot. Most neuromas occur between the third and fourth toes. Common symptoms of this condition include a burning feeling, numbness in the toes and ball of the foot, or tingling sensations.

There are a few different factors that can contribute towards a neuroma forming. Your risks are increased with high arches or flat feet, as these traits create more instability around toe joints. Other causes include foot trauma, improper footwear, or repeated stress.
